Alps
Alps used to have a printer line called micro dry or MD for short. The entire line has since been discontinued. The company Alps is still in business though online. Read on to learn a little more about the company and their line of Alps printers. History Of The Alps Company And Printer Alps did a good job of making a printer that used the micro dry technology for their printers. The inks in the dye substitute on a certain type of photo paper made it practically barren to any water that came into contact with the print and it resisted fading from sunlight or other light sources. They also have a patent on the printer heads that make the special dyes evenly spread on the paper, and long lasting also. The Alps printer lines on the paper were virtually unseen, and the photographs and artwork look great. Alps have been in business since the mid 1970s, and have delved into other products like audio, computer hard drives, and lighting for different industries. There were even Alps electronic printers, and the company was coming out with quite a few printers for a number of years. |

For a few years in the new millennium Alps produced several different models of the Alps printer. Some model names were the MD 5000, 1300, and the 4000. Like other new hot items when they came out they ranged in the couple of hundred dollars, but it wasn’t bad for the quality the printers produced. If you have an Alps MD printer you can still trade in your old printer for another one. There are still places on the Internet where you can get the needed hardware and printer cartridges for the Alps. All you have to do is just do a quick search for the models. Online it’s very likely that you can find some cheap Alps printers for sale. Certain online auctions sites carry the brand of Alps, and bargain basement websites have discount Alps printers at times too. It never hurts to check out what you can find. Who knows, you just might find what you need to keep the Alps that you have running at top speed for several years to come. |
