Printer Wheel
A printer wheel can be a problem for printing. If you have a certain brand of printer that causes problems when printing, there’s a way to remedy the problem. Read on to learn about taking apart your printer to fix it by removing a couple of wheels. It’s not hard to do, and it will fix it for the printing needs that you have. Why Fix The Dot Smears Printer Wheel If you want to print high quality graphics on thicker paper with an ink jet printer and you’re having problems with printer smears, or small dots being left on the paper, it can be fixed. No one likes their artwork or family photo graphs ruined, so if you’ve got the patience you can fix the problem. You save money on bench time for someone else to take apart your printer, so learn to do it yourself. How To Fix The Printer Wheel The printer wheels that you’ll remove will be a couple located on the inside of the printer. Typically several of these wheels keep the paper straight, and acts as a feeder for paper too, so it can be printed on correctly. If you’re using thicker paper, and leave the two outer wheels in place it won’t get off track through the feeder. |

For the first step in removing the wheels is to take off the tray, and then and cover for your printer in the front. Next, just press down with a dull pointed knife or screwdriver, and push on the small plastic pieces holding the printer color wheels in place. Do to each printer color wheel toward the back of the printer. Leave only the ones in the center so the paper will go through it straight. It might be better for certain models to leave the wheels toward the front in place. If there are springs on some of the printer wheels don’t mess with those, just leave them in place. After that you can put the unit back together, and try to print. There might be some fine adjusting that you’ll need to do to the printer wheels. If you find this doesn’t work to your satisfaction then you’ll have to invest into a printer that works for your needs in printing the things you love. It doesn’t matter if you buy printer color wheels that are discount printer wheels, or cheap printer wheels, if the model is made where it doesn’t want to print right, then its time to get a new printer. Also, just because it’s a discount printer wheel or a less expensive cheap printer wheel doesn’t mean that it won’t work either.
